We loved creating a fun and genuine motherhood photography session experience for beautiful mama Megan and her adorable two-year-old twins, a boy and a girl.

As cute as they are, any mom knows that two-year-olds are tricky. Add twins to the mix, and it’s even more so. Rather than fight their newly acquired attitude of independence for a “perfect,” everyone-smile-for-the-camera picture, we focused on capturing moments together. Moments of motherhood at this stage for Megan and her twins include dancing, reading, building forts, laughing, and tickling. So that’s exactly what we did.

Behind the Scenes

The behind-the-scenes secrets on these gorgeous photos?

Well, Megan’s daughter didn’t want to put on her dress or comb her hair at first…and some of those beginning shots became our favorites.

We sent our incredible hair and makeup artists, Lyndsay and Aimie, to Megan’s house prior to her photoshoot. That way the twins could hang out in the comfort of their own home while mom got dolled up.

There was no stress about choosing outfits, since all three of them took advantage of our client closet. (Yes, even our little miss not-going-to-wear-a-dress warmed up to the idea eventually!)

And Megan decided to forego stressing about getting her house picture perfect and instead came to the studio to capture these images of her and her little ones. We’ve set up our studio to reflect an inviting, homelike space, so we can create lifestyle sessions at the studio.
