What’s a Lifestyle Photography Studio exactly?
Well, in my case it’s a 700 sq ft space above a 2 car garage. The garage space being my husband’s new gym/parking space for his lawn mower and the upstairs being the space of my photography dreams.
This family’s home had BEAUTIFUL natural light!
See, I love the look and feel of in-home images of families. Comfy and cozy, cuddled in bed, snuggling on each other and newborn babies … but I hate when I get home and the lighting in my images- for lack of a better word, sucks. They can often be dark and grainy and just not up to the quality I want to provide for my clients.
So I started using studio strobes (aka flash) and doing more posed newborns. I love the lighting, and the images are pretty… but lack some of the emotional connection of the lifestyle in-home sessions.
I wanted BOTH. Emotional connection + tiny details. All in one session. In a space that’s comfortable and beautiful and most importantly has stunning light.
Can you picture it? (pun intended, I crack myself up)
Here’s a few things you can expect from this new space-
FULLY STOCKED
You can be sure that when you book a studio session, we will have all the necessary equipment and amenities to ensure a seamless, luxury experience and, of course, gorgeous photos.
You’ll be able to walk in and literally need nothing but your family members in tow. We have a client closet with options for men, women and children up to size 8. Plus hundreds of colors and options for newborn babies from the best newborn vendors around the world. And I’m constantly adding more items to the closet, much to my husband’s dismay.
A lifestyle studio, like the one we are building, will have everything set up to capture gorgeous images of your family while providing a relaxing, at home environment. PLUS: an ordering area to create gorgeous art together and tons of sample to touch and feel so you know you’re going to absolutely love what you’re ordering.
Of course there will be snacks, coffee, sparkly water (or wine if you’re celebrating!) and my favorite bribe for older kids- pez dispensers. They sit on top of my camera for the session, but go home in their pocket at the end of the shoot.
And did I mention you can just show up?? No need to pick up your home or make your bed before the session. Leave all the cleaning to us.
COZY PREVIEW AREA
When I’m not shooting sessions, I’ll be showing my clients (YOU!) their beautiful images on all of my favorite products in our client ordering area with flat screen TV. Our system allows me to show you your images, to scale, on photos we took of your own walls. How fun is that??? Plus you’ll know you love the way it looks before you ever order .

Do you have one of our collection boxes or albums yet? They’re so gorgeous I keep ordering more for my own home. ???? (one for you, one for me, one for you, two for me…whoops)
WHEN IS OUR BOISE LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO GOING TO BE DONE?
Ah, the big question. I wish I had a solid answer for this, but the truth is, I’m not sure. (I’m scared to speculate.) Originally the contractors told us 7-9 months from the start date… but they also told me permitting would take 3 weeks and it took 4 months. ???? So, I’m staying flexible and optimistic but prepared to adjust my expectations. Expect a grand opening party sometime late summer. (Hopefully 2021)
