Capturing Milestones & Family Stages

As moms, you hear it all the time: “They grow up so fast!” It doesn’t always feel that way in the day-to-day, but it’s true. Babies grow quickly. And it’s so important to capture their milestones before those moments are gone.

Capturing Baby Milestones

The big baby milestones to capture are the classics:

·        Smiling

·        Sitting

·        Pulling up/Cruising

·        Standing

·        Walking

·        First Birthday

Really though, babies aren’t the only ones who have milestones. As a family, you go through stages together, and while those may not come to mind as readily, they’re worth capturing as well. So, when you’re thinking about capturing milestones, remember to think about capturing those important family moments too.

Capturing Family Stages

Family stages to consider might include:

·        Newborn Stage (You know, tired and sleepy parents, milk-stained shirts, the messy but the oh-so-good)

·        Baby Stage (Those intimate but often overlooked moments, like feeding your baby, reading to them, rocking them to sleep, or bathing them)

·        Toddler Stage (This is such a fun age, and you’ll want to capture all the peek-a-boos, the walks in the stroller, and the pushing on the swings at the park)

·        Kid Stage (And the adventure continues as you teach your kids how to ride a bike, bake cookies together, or cheer them on at tee-ball)

All of these stages are worth documenting and all of them are worthy of a professional photoshoot. Rather than just posing in the park for the camera, your photos can be about capturing each of these precious milestones and family stages before they pass.
