I don’t know about you but I’m tired of the posed- “say cheese” for the camera- pictures in the park. I want something more for my own family AND for my clients. And whether or not you choose to hire Glean & Co for your photos this year, I hope if you do hire a professional that will help you dig a little deeper into the pre-planning process and create images with personal meaning.
Family photos don’t have to be an obligation. Let them be an EXPERIENCE and a good one at that. Gone are the days when you have to dread getting everyone dressed or worry about your kids’ behavior.
Let’s choose fun instead.
Let’s choose to play games, sing along to music, eat ice cream and let it drip down our kids’ arms as they genuinely smile and interact with us. Scroll on to see one of our latest family adventure photography sessions!
2020 Fall Family Photography: We’re Goin’ On a Bear Hunt
Location: Lake Cascade, Idaho
I sat down with this family to talk about their 2020 family adventure session and learned that they’ve been spending a lot of time in their new camper this summer. I also learned that their little boy absolutely loves the book We’re Going On A Bear Hunt, so we decided to merge the two together! We packed up the trailer, headed to Lake Cascade and found the perfect spot to camp and explore. The kids loved reading the story with mom and dad and then hoping up to “hunt” for the bear through the nearby trees!
What’s the difference between a posed session and an adventure? It’s a true experience. Kids love these sessions because they’re allowed to be themselves. While we do give prompts and ideas like “Can you spot the bear with your binoculars???” or “Ooh, is he behind that tree!?” The idea is that we want the kids to have fun first and foremost. The smiles, interaction with parents, joy and laughter are all the benefits of allowing this genuine experience to take place. Adventure Family sessions have much lower stress levels than traditional photos because we are not focused on a false sense of “picture perfect,” we are focused on capturing the fun and documenting the experience.
