Breastfeeding is a beautiful and natural part of motherhood that creates an unbreakable bond between a mother and her child. And capturing these moments through photography is a great way to celebrate the beauty of motherhood! But not every photographer offers these types of sessions. Breastfeeding sessions are different. They can be tricky. And they are uniquely intimate and personal. At Glean & Co, we offer Boise breastfeeding portraits because we sincerely believe that breastfeeding can be a transformative experience. And these empowering steps in your motherhood journey deserve to be documented!
Why Choose a Breastfeeding Session?
Boise breastfeeding portraits can help you:
Celebrate and Normalize Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding is a natural and normal part of bringing a new life into the world. Unfortunately, breastfeeding is also frequently stigmatized or hidden. This shouldn’t be the case. Breastfeeding is a symbol of maternal strength, resilience, and unconditional love. And we want to honor that! Boise breastfeeding portraits are part of a larger movement to help normalize and celebrate the beauty of breastfeeding.
Accept Your Journey
We know breastfeeding can be challenging at times. If you’re like most moms, you’ve probably had moments when you want to quit. Or you may have had to make adjustments and use other types of feeding to supplement your breastfeeding. That’s okay! Every feeding journey is different, and each one is beautiful and rewarding. We are here to document YOUR journey and support YOU.
Capture the Bonding Experience
Breastfeeding is a personal and unique experience for every mother and child. With a portrait session, you can capture and celebrate this individual connection. Even with its difficulties, we’ve found that breastfeeding can create a sense of peace and calm for both you and your baby. These moments of tranquility are precious and fleeting! During your session, we’ll create a relaxing environment to help you have a wonderful breastfeeding experience. And then we’ll capture it for you!
Treat Yourself
Many moms use a breastfeeding session as a special way to mark a milestone. Breastfeeding portraits can be the perfect way to document and celebrate your baby’s first birthday or the end of your breastfeeding journey. The images from your session also make the most incredible gifts. You, your partner, or your child will cherish them long after the baby is done nursing.
Boise Breastfeeding Portraits with Glean & Co: What to Expect
Here’s what a breastfeeding portrait session looks like:
First of all, we know that you might feel nervous about capturing such intimate photos. Please know that our talented photographers know exactly how to make you feel comfortable and at ease during your breastfeeding portrait session. We’ll create a relaxed and supportive atmosphere so you can be yourself and enjoy the moment with your little one.
Before
The first step is to book a consultation. We’ll talk about your vision for your photos, and go over options. For example, because we want your breastfeeding session to feel right for you, we offer you the choice of either a studio or an outdoor session. Wherever you feel comfortable is the perfect place! (You can check out a studio breastfeeding session along with our survival guide to nursing new babies with a toddler in tow, a feeding journey including both studio and outdoor photos, and even some bathtub breastfeeding photos for inspiration.)
During
During the session itself, we’ll capture a range of images that show the tender and intimate moments of breastfeeding. This is your time to just snuggle your baby close. Enjoy the cuddles and let us take care of the rest! From close-ups of your baby’s tiny hands to wider shots of the precious embrace between you and your child, we’ll work with you to create a beautiful collection of images.
After
After your session, you’ll be able to choose your favorite images. We’ll also help you create beautiful artwork—wall art, albums, or prints—so you can share and remember this precious time forever.
Our goal is to empower and celebrate all mothers out there. Whether you’re a new mom or a seasoned one, Boise breastfeeding portraits are for you! We’ll help you feel confident and beautiful, and make sure your session is a special highlight in your motherhood journey—One that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
Join Our Project: Fed, With Love
Capture your bond and share your story with other moms! Join us for Fed, With Love volume 2. This special photography book project is a celebration of parenthood. The challenges, the joys, and all the tiny, fleeting, love-filled moments we never want to forget. We’ve got lots of information here if you’d like to apply for a spot or learn more. We’ll be traveling beyond Boise this week and would love to hear from you if you live in the US and would like to model for our new book!
Whether you are breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, pumping, feeding twins, have a baby with a NG tube…your story matters. Fed, With Love volume 2 will be our second collection of love letters paired with stunning images of young families just like yours, feeding their babies in a wide variety of ways.
And your participation helps provide milk for other tiny babies. We’ll donate a percentage of all proceeds to the Northwest Mother’s Milk Bank, which delivers human milk to the Northwest’s most fragile NICUE newborns.
This Sounds Great, Except…
What if you’re interested in a breastfeeding photo session, but aren’t comfortable with sharing your images?
We get it. Some things are meant to stay private. And we can absolutely do a session of breastfeeding images that are meant for your eyes only. In fact, you can learn more about the difference between private and public wall art elsewhere on the blog. Please reach out, even if you feel that breastfeeding is something you want to keep just between you and your loved ones. We’ll help you capture these precious memories in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you.
