Once you have decided what type of newborn imagery you want- (studio, lifestyle, outdoor or a blend!) you have to think about what you want to do with your photos.⠀
The answer may be “post them on instagram so everyone can ooh and ahh and give me thousands of likes.” -or it might be- “create a wall gallery, album or the most beautiful newborn announcement you’ve ever seen”
Some photographers offer products and prints and help you through the entire process, and other photographers provide you with digital files that you print on your own. {Please note: This is not a distinction in the quality of the actual images as that can vary drastically from photographer to photographer and really doesn’t have anything to do with their model of service}⠀
Think of it like this- do you want to go in to a boutique furniture store and test drive all the couches to see which is the most comfy, have a designer show you all the swatches for color options and maybe even show you a rendering of exactly what your living room will look like with that particular size couch and maybe two of those matching leather chairs? Then Type 1 is for you. You’re going to walk away with tangible products made by professional labs exactly to your specifications. ⠀
If you prefer to do your shopping online, save a little money and don’t feel like you could benefit from a professional designers help- or maybe you’re a designer yourself and know exactly what you want- then Type 2 might be the better choice.⠀
